Capital Area Pageant Organization is proud to be the official interim State Director for the Mrs. United States National Pageant, Inc.®   


Mrs. United States National Pageant, Inc. celebrates intelligent women of all walks of life. Our system is based on a solid commitment to uphold the standards of fairness and integrity. It prides itself in providing an avenue for each young woman to give a voice to those needing to be heard, lend a hand to those less fortunate, and be a compass for those daring to dream. 


At the local, state, and national level, United States National Pageants give women the opportunity to promote a platform of community service. Featuring eight divisions – Little Miss, Pre-Teen, Junior Teen, Teen, Miss, Ms., Ms. Woman, and Mrs. – United States National Pageants®  is recognized as “the premier event of its kind” and the largest pageant system for girls and women ages 8+ in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and five U.S. territories. 


As your local and state interim director, you will have an opportunity to work with CAPO to strengthen your pageant skills and fix your weaknesses.  The Capital Area Pageant Organization is here to assist every contestant in gaining sponsor support, expanding community exposure, and perfecting the art of fundraising.

CAPO Pageant Learning Competition Crowning and Workshop Event

The Capital Area Pageant Organization (CAPO) Pageant Learning Competition Crowning and Workshop Event is a learning competition to educate and prepare Queens for the pageant world.  A preliminary competition leading up to a regional or state competition for the pageant organization of your choice.  Learn specifically about competing in the MUSNP Little Miss, Pre-Teen, Jr. Teen, Teen, Miss, Ms., Ms. Woman, Mrs. pageant divisions.


Something for Everybody

CAPO is proud to announce that we have an inclusive learning competition division. That's right inclusive to YOU! No matter your gender identity, we welcome you.  Winners of this division will be ambassadors of CAPO and will receive scholarships towards the pageant of their choice.


In 2018, CAPO Events - Team Virginia United States produced a 1st Runner-Up, 3rd Runner-Up, 3 Top 10's and THE NATIONAL QUEEN, Andromeda Peters, Miss United States 2018.  Come meet members of CAPO Events - Team Virginia and learn the winning recipe to build a winning career in pageantry and modeling.


All contestants participating in local title learning competition crowning and workshop events have the opportunity to experience what a local title competition is about.  In the pageant world, we call these preliminary competitions.  


Competition Locations & Dates

Tired of traveling to a location that isn't convenient for you to compete?  We've solved that problem with our contestant locator program. We will host the event within a 100 mile radius of the largest grouping of contestants.  The competition dates will be released by September 2019. 


Contestant Sponsorship Opportunities

All of the contestants will enter and will receive a candidate number for their locality and a letter of participation for sponsorship opportunities.  All contestants will also participate in the following areas of competition:  


Competition Categories

Bold (Beauty)

This is your time to learn how to radiate your inner beauty to the world while dawning evening wear that represents your inner boldness.  All contestants will compete in this competition. Contestants will do a simple walk. The runway will be in the shape of a T crossing at the back. There will be four X’s marked on the runway and Contestants will learn how to work the runway.  Spins, turns and presentation will be taught during the competition.  Stones are permitted.  Judging is based on simple inner beauty, stage presence personality and overall appeal.  Makeup is permitted.


Runway 

This is a free style runway modeling event. Attire should be a trendy outfit or a fashionably "YOU" look. Choose an outfit that showcases your personality. This is your chance to show the judges your unique style and have fun!  Hand held props may be used.  Judging will be based on personality, energy presentation to the music that is provided, modeling ability and overall appearance.


Optional Competitions:

Photogenic 

Photo Sizes: 8-10″ or 8.5-11″ This should be a head shot. It can be black and white or color. You will bring your photo with you to registration with your full name and age on the back. Light make up is allowed by all ages for your head shots. Photos may be lightly retouched, cropped and/or have lighting adjusted. NO “GLITZ” PHOTOS NOR OVERLY TOUCHED.  Judging will be based on personality projection, facial beauty, overall appeal, quality and clarity.  Photogenic competition winners are invited to join our modeling and special appearances teams.


Memory Work Book

Memory workbook ad pages can be purchased for: 

$25 - 1/4 page  $50 - 1/2 page  $65 - 3/4 page  $75 - 1 page


Memory book is used by our modeling partners as a portfolio to select participants for our CAPORunway modeling group.


CAPO Events has a team dedicated to providing our contestants and winners with unique opportunities to get involved with their community, print modeling, runway shows, acting careers, and attending events as a VIP.

Who is CAPO?

CAPO was founded by Dr. Shena Dixon Mason, Esq. It stands for the Capital Area Pageant Organization simply put, we recognize and empower young people, Women, families and our communities by initiating community fundraising efforts.

What does CAPO do?

We produced the 2017 Mrs. Virginia and Mrs. West Virginia pageants and the 2018 Miss Virginia United States Pageants, the preliminaries to the National Miss United States Pageant.

  

We produce CAPOEVENT shows to include bridal shows and NYFW events. We mentor CAPOKids in academic and small businesses through our Fundraising program. 


We guide TEAMCAPO women in business startups & training and We manage the CAPOBrides, CAPO Queens and CAPORunway modeling troupes and keep them looking beautiful with our in house Hair and Make up teams.  


With CAPOWeddings we help people balance and financially recover from their wedding day. CAPOFit for Women's health and Weight loss
